Tobias C. Pierce

Tobias C. Pierce joined BSK in January 2017.  Tobias focuses his practice in the areas of estate and business planning, business succession planning, business transactions, corporate law, and estate and trust administration.  Tobias has honed his legal skills working with many experienced practitioners in the Valley, enabling him to develop a unique skill-set to assist individuals, families, and business owners in protecting their current operational and financial well-being as well as planning for the future.  Tobias’s corporate representation has covered serving the legal needs of a wide range of business in various stages of growth; from startup business ventures to well established local industry leaders. Similarly, Tobias’s estate and trusts practice has involved matters ranging from assisting individuals and families with their basic estate plans, to complex estate and gift tax controversies being litigated in the United States Tax Court.

Tobias is very active in the local professional and civic communities. He has served as Section Chair for the Sole Practitioner and Small Firm Section of the State Bar of Arizona. Tobias also serves on the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce Airpark Committee and the Personnel Committee for the North Phoenix Baptist Church, and is a member of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Emerging Leaders group. He previously served on the American Bar Association’s Committee for LLCs, Partnerships and Unincorporated Entities.  Tobias actively collaborates with the Career Services department of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in providing opportunities for law students and graduates to develop their legal and professional skill-sets. In addition to his efforts in serving the community, Tobias spends time contributing his time and expertise to various legal publications, most notably serving as a Contributing Author for the Arizona Litigation Guide (2015), and serving as an editor for the State Bar of Michigan’s publication Documenting the Justice Gap (2009).

Tobias received his Juris Doctorate from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2010, and his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Communications from Arizona State University in 2006. Tobias was born and raised Prescott, Arizona, and comes from a long line of Arizona natives dating back to his great grandfather who was one of Arizona’s first State Senators.
